N E T W O R K I N G - CSC457Week 1: Data transmition chapters 1 to 4. Includes media, characteristics, RS-232, baud, bandwidth, framing, Shannon theoreum, and Nyquest theoreum. Week 2: Packets Chapters 5 and 6. Includes Manchester, NRZ, 4B/10311 encodings, multiplexing, byte stuffing, error detection, checksums, and CRC. This week I have completed two programming examples called cs.c and bs.c. Week 3: Lans - Chapter 7. Includes topologies, CSMA, CSMA/CD, wireless and CSMA/CA, FDDI, ATM. Week 4: Hardware Addressing and the Data Frame - Chapters 8, 9, and 10.
Week 5: Long Distance Digital Technologies - Chapter 11.
Week 6: Java and the Internet. Skipped this due to Nor'Easter 2001. Week 7: Routing - Chapter 12.
Week 8: Network Services - Chapter 13 and 14.
Week 9 & 10: Internetworking - Chapter 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22.
Week 11: Client Server in Software - Chapter 23, 24, and 26.
WEEK 12: WWW Browsers - Chapters 29, 30, and 31.
