Katterskill Falls Hike
Saturday I woke up early to meet up with some friends for a day hike. I just posted the pictures .
I promised to take my friend and workmate Konstantin that we would do Katterskill falls in the Catskills. I had done the hike earlier in the spring and the pictures hooked him. So I met him, his wife Lilia (ok, if I misspell, let me know ok!), and their friend Monica.
We started off by exploring the upper part of Katterskill falls. It was absolutely awesome. For the most part of the day we hike the Escarpment Trail. We had some great views of Cortina Valley and the Hudson Valley.
After some photo shoots with Marcy we headed back and ran across a pond. It was unusual and very cool. We saw hundreds of tiny catfish and some kind of swimming lizard. No kidding.
At the end we hiked up Katterskill Falls from the highway (lower part). Kostia and I climbed up to explore the lower part of the falls, which was a cool cave like washbowl. Very cool stuff. On the way home Monica and I toasted little chocolate cookies (too many of them), and we all stopped in to Dairy Queen for a Blizzard.
