Blue Mountain and Hayes Creek

The ride was a thursday night ride with a group of friends. I am glad I went because I have never done some of these trails. A mishap with my brakes caused a headder at the bottom of a technical downhill. I crashed right in front of some Motor Bikers.

We parked at the main trail head. We went up the main trail 304 untill we reached Gate #2. From there we went up the road just a bit. Just under a mile is a singletrack heading off to the left side of the road. This is the climb of the ride and it is pretty steep with ruts to make it challenging.

The trail goes to the Hayes Point pull off on the main road. From there we headed up Hayes Point and took in the view. The climb up to the point is very CT like technical. After taking in the view we went back to the Hayes Point Parking area and headed down trail 601.

This is a awesome downhill but watch out. I almost crashed three time and at the bottom dod go over my bars. There are ruts with rollers and stwitchbacks. This downhill should get more fun as I get to know it. at the time my back brakes were out so it was not so much fun. Once down to Hayes Creek we headed up trail 604.

604 takes you up to a well travled (motorcycles) trail. Before you start to climb in ernest we turned right on to 602 which is a technical downhill. This downhill startes through the woods and comes out to do some ledge drop off sections. At the end you pop out at Hayes Creek once again.

We took the Bridge over to the 602 trail which is the bottom of Dead Man"s Ridge Trail. Before taking a right to climb go straight. This tastey singletrack takes you out to a street. Be careful of provate property. Once out on a road go down it. We took the next singletrack to the left, trail 310 or 309 I think. From here we big ringed it to the parking lot.

This is a fun short loop that exercises all skills. Ill give this one 4 stars.
