Park at the gas sub-station on Pattee Canyon Drive. You cant miss it and there is also a gate with some hike trail posts as well as a no mountain bike sign. Every time I have been there, numerous other hikers and runners parked in front of the chain link fence. I recommend parking the same way.
Hike straight up the fence line avoiding the boring trail to the left about 75 yards up the trail from the fence. Hike straight up until you reach other joining roads from the left. Keep hiking straight (10 paces) and as you crest and join another road merging from the left look straight to the far bank and you will see this trail heading straight up the south ridge.
This is the trail. Follow to the summit where you will find numerous monuments to area hikers. I give this hike 4 stars!
