This is part 8 in a series of blog posts that I am dedication to my favorite photos of 2009. Today's inductee and now a resident in my "Abstract" photo album is "Water Color". I took this photo June 6th, 2009 at 9:22 AM near Missoula Montana with my trusty Canon PowerShot SD1000.
This photo is not really that abstract but that is what late night category decision making will result in. Between what I named it and what the subject is thought you can say its a little abstract. Or am I just blowing smoke up everyone's ass?
I remember taking this shot while I was waiting for my training partner Zeph to appear for our planned threshold intervals up Butler Creek Road. It was cold, wet, and raining but I knew of all the hard cores, she would show. But she never came so I went out and plastered myself physically and also actually spackled myself thoroughly with sandy mud.
Come to find out she did show … but instead up Grant Creek Road. She was on one ridge side and I on the other. I remember I said “Snow Bowl” and well, that's the way to Snow Bowl. So that's how it goes I guess.
